About Linen Linen is a textile made from the fibers of the flax plant. Many detergents contain whitening agents and are a good choice for white linens. These however are not recommended for colored linens because may lead to discoloring and spotting. For colored linen chose either detergent not containing whitening agents or soap powder. If you wash your linen in water with a high lime content, it is better to use a softening agent, especially for darker colors. Wash your linens at max. 40°C - 104°F. If possible use a mild soap. Avoid chlorine bleach. If possible, line dry, it is best for linen and the environment. If using a tumbler, dry on medium heat, do not over dry it in the machine. Iron with steam on slightly damp linen from the inside of the fabric.
